Crusty Bread

3 cups flour
1/4 tsp yeast
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 - 1 3/4 cups water


  1. whisk all 3 dry ingrediants together until its a sticky consistancy
  2. cover with plastic wrap and rest at room temp for 3 hours
  3. Once it about doubles in size scrape dough onto a floured surface
  4. Add a bit of flour on top of dough
  5. using scraper, flip the dough over a few times until it comes together and form it into a ball.
  6. Line another bowl with parchment paper and put the dough ball into the parchment paper
  7. cover with tea towel and preheat your oven to 450 with a dutch oven for 35 minutes
  8. remove the dutch oven and put the bread into it parchment paper and all
  9. place lid back on and place in the oven for ~30 mins
  10. remove lid and continue baking for ~10 minutes
    • watch for the level of brown you want… can be anywhere from 5 to 12 mins
